9.1.20.1 Database Server I/O Latency Capping

On very rare occasions there may be high I/O latency between a database server and a storage server due to network latency outliers, hardware problems on the storage servers, or some other system problem with the storage servers. Oracle ASM and Oracle Exadata Storage Server software automatically redirect read I/O operations to another storage server when the latency of the read I/O is much longer than expected. Any I/Os issued to the last valid mirror copy of the data are not redirected.

This feature works with all Exadata Storage Software releases. You do not have to perform any configuration to use this feature.

Minimum software required: Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure 12c release 2 (12.2.0.1.0)
