10.6.3 Optimized Smart Scan

Oracle Exadata Storage Server Software detects resource bottlenecks on Exadata Storage Servers by monitoring CPU utilization. When a bottleneck is found, work is relocated to improve performance. Each Exadata Cell maintains the following statistics:

  • Exadata Cell CPU usage and push-back rate snapshots for the last 30 minutes.

  • Total number of 1MB blocks that had a push-back decision on.

  • Number of blocks that have been pushed back to the database servers.

  • The statistic Total cpu passthru output IO size in KB.
