The diagram summarizes the major software components in Oracle Exadata, as described in the preceding text.
The system is represented by multiple layers of objects, each in rows, arranged from top to bottom. The top layer is a row of two database servers with key components illustrated. The middle layer is the RDMA Network Fabric, represented by lines connecting the database server layer to the storage server layer (the third layer). The storage server layer shows three storage servers (cells). Each storage server includes the Exadata System Software components described in the preceding text. Each storage server also contains diagrammatic representations of significant hardware components, including Exadata XRMEM cache, flash cache, flash log, and data storage devices (HDD or capacity-optimized flash).
