What’s New in Oracle Database Appliance Release 19.33

For more information about these features, see the Oracle Database Appliance Deployment and User Guide for your hardware model.

Stay current with the latest Oracle Database releases

Oracle Database Appliance 19.33 includes support for the October 2026 Oracle Database Release Updates for both Oracle Database 19c and Oracle AI Database 26ai. Oracle Database Release Updates are delivered quarterly and include critical and security fixes. Oracle recommends keeping database software current with the latest available RU to reduce exposure to known security vulnerabilities and software issues. For ODA customers, this provides a consistent path to maintain supported database software while continuing to use the integrated ODA lifecycle-management model.

Provisioning and patching of Oracle Database Appliance bare metal deployments, KVM, and DB systems

This release supports provisioning and patching of bare metal deployments, KVM, and DB systems with Oracle Database Appliance release 19.33 on supported hardware models.

Support for Oracle AI Database 26ai and 19c databases on Oracle Database Appliance DB systems

This release supports creation of Oracle AI Database 26ai and 19c databases on DB systems. The version is specified in the DB system JSON payload, with the attribute version for database. For details on the JSON file changes for creating Oracle AI Database 26ai and 19c databases on DB systems, see the Oracle Database Appliance Deployment and User’s Guide for your hardware model.

Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Database Updates

This release contains October 2026 Oracle Database Release Updates 19.33.0.0.261020 for Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Database for bare metal and DB systems 23.26.4.0.0 for Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle AI Database 26ai for DB systems.

Performance improvement

Oracle Database Appliance release 19.33 delivers up to 4.4× higher IOPS, bringing DB system performance closer to bare metal systems. On an Oracle Database Appliance X11 High-Performance system, customers can achieve up to 1.5 million read IOPS and 1.1 million write IOPS. This makes DB systems a strong option for database and application workloads previously deployed on bare metal. DB systems allow workload isolation to contain database licensing costs.

ODACLI command enhancements

There are changes to ODACLI command options in this release. Use the –help option with a command to view the supported options for the command in this release.
