Create an Internet Gateway

post

/20160918/internetGateways

Create a new internet gateway for the specified VCN. Specify the OCID of the compartment where you want the Internet Gateway to reside. The internet gateway does not need to be in the same compartment as the VCN or other Networking Service components. If you are not sure which compartment to use, put the Internet Gateway in the same compartment with the VCN.

You may optionally specify a display name for the internet gateway. If you do not, a default display name is provided. The display name does not need to be unique, and you can change it. Avoid entering confidential information.

For traffic to flow between a subnet and an internet gateway, you must create an appropriate route rule in the subnet's route table.

You must specify whether the internet gateway is enabled when you create it. If it is disabled, no traffic will flow to or from the internet even if a route rule exists that enables that traffic. You can later use UpdateInternetGateway to easily disable or enable the gateway without changing the route rule.

Header Parameters
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 64
A token that uniquely identifies a request so it can be retried in case of a timeout or server error without risk of executing that same action again. Retry tokens expire after 24 hours, but can be invalidated before then due to conflicting operations (for example, if a resource has been deleted and purged from the system, then a retry of the original creation request may be rejected).
Body ()
Details for creating a new internet gateway.

Root Schema : InternetGateway
Type: object
Represents a router that connects the edge of a VCN with the Internet.
Show Source
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 255
The OCID of the compartment containing the internet gateway.
  • definedTags
    Additional Properties Allowed: additionalProperties
Defined tags for this resource. Each key is predefined and scoped to a namespace.
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 255
A user-friendly name. Does not need to be unique, and it is changeable. Avoid entering confidential information.

    Free-form tags for this resource. Each tag is a simple key-value pair with no predefined name, type, or namespace. Example: {"Department": "Finance"}
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 255
    The internet gateway's OCID.
  • Whether the gateway is enabled. When the gateway is disabled, traffic is not routed to/from the Internet, regardless of route rules.
  • Allowed Values: [ "PROVISIONING", "AVAILABLE", "TERMINATING", "TERMINATED" ]
    The internet gateway's current state.
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 255
The OCID of the route table the Internet Gateway is using.
  • The date and time the internet gateway was created, in the format defined by [RFC3339](https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3339). Example: 2016-08-25T21:10:29.600Z
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 255
The OCID of the VCN the Internet Gateway belongs to.
  • zprTags
