CreateOrResetUIPassword

Create a new Compute Web UI temporary password for the specified user. A tenancy administrator can provide a temporary password for any user. Users must set their own permanent passwords.

Use this operation after creating a new user or if a user forgets their password. The new one-time password is returned to you in the response, and you must securely deliver it to the user. The user will be prompted to change this password the next time they sign in to the Compute Web UI. The temporary password expires in 7 days.

Note: Passwords for federated users are not managed through the IAM service. See information from your federated identity provider.

Supported Media Types
Path Parameters
Header Parameters
  • Minimum Length: 1
    Maximum Length: 64
A token that uniquely identifies a request so it can be retried in case of a timeout or server error without risk of executing that same action again. Retry tokens expire after 24 hours, but can be invalidated before then due to conflicting operations (for example, if a resource has been deleted and purged from the system, then a retry of the original creation request may be rejected).
