Prior to patching or upgrading to the latest release, ensure that all compute nodes are in the provisioned state.
Functional Updates for Load Balancers
- Cookie Based Session Persistence
-
Due to a change in the underlying implementation of load balancers, session persistence based on cookies was not supported in previous versions of the appliance controller software. This release reintroduces cookie based session persistence as an option that can be activated by applying a defined tag when creating the application load balancer. See Load Balancer as a Service: Implementation Options.
- Rule Sets for Request Routing
-
Rule sets enable actions on traffic passing through a load balancer's listener. Rules can add or remove HTTP request or response headers, or they can restrict access to the application hosted on the backend based on the source of the request. See Managing Load Balancer Rule Sets.
Flex Network Routing
A Flex network in hub mode no longer prevents you from advertising it to the data center network, and can now be configured with a route table to control access for specific subnets. In addition, traffic between VCNs is allowed to flow through the spine switch flex ports. Overlapping CIDRs can be used if there is clean path separation. See Flex Network with Route Table
Audit Log Streaming
Using Vector, the system provides easy access to a critical set of audit logs. See Consulting Audit Logs Streamed Through Vector.
