Database Fleet Wallet Update for Recovery Appliance

You can update the backup wallets of protected databases after rotating a Virtual Private Catalog (VPC) user credential or trusted certificate on a Recovery Appliance.

After the new credential or certificate information is provided in Enterprise Manager, the update can be performed in bulk across all affected databases to preserve connectivity and prevent backup operations from failing.

You can use Oracle Enterprise Manager Command Line Interface (EMCLI) verbs and REST APIs to list backup wallet maintenance tasks and maintain the Recovery Appliance backup configuration for database targets configured by Enterprise Manager to send backups and redo to a Recovery Appliance.

The EMCLI verbs are:

  • list_ra_backup_maintenance: Lists the backup wallet maintenance tasks required for database targets configured by Enterprise Manager to send backups and real-time redo to a Recovery Appliance. For more information, see list_ra_backup_maintenance in Oracle Enterprise Manager Command Line Interface.
  • maintain_db_ha: Performs maintenance tasks such as updating the virtual private catalog user password and trusted certificates in the backup wallet, when applicable. For more information, see maintain_db_ha in Oracle Enterprise Manager Command Line Interface.

The REST APIs are:

  • GET /databases/RABackupMaintenance
  • POST /databases/actions/maintainBackupConfig

For more information, see Database Backup Management REST Endpoints in REST API for Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Note:

The list_ra_backup_maintenance EMCLI verb does not require the Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance Management Pack. The maintain_db_ha EMCLI verb and both REST APIs are licensed as part of the Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance Management Pack.
