DCS-12732

Failed to install Oracle Key Vault (OKV) endpoint software

Cause

Installation of the Oracle Key Vault (OKV) endpoint software failed. Some of the possible reasons are the following:

  1. The current time on the Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) does not match with the OKV server.
  2. Port number 443 or 5695 or 5696 on the Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) are closed and hence cannot connect to OKV.
  3. The okvclient.jar file specified in the error message is either invalid or corrupt.

Action

If the cause is (1), setup the Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server using Chrony or manually fix the time to synchronize the clock in ODA with the clock in the OKV server. If the cause is (2), open the ports on ODA. If the cause is (3), first remove the existing okvclient.jar. Then use the OKV REST client whose version is same as the OKV server version and download the okvclient.jar again. If the installation fails again, contact Oracle Support. Otherwise, look for the errors in the /opt/oracle/dcs/log/dcs-agent.log file and log files located under the /etc/OKV/dbUniqueName/okv/log directory. If the cause of the failure can be identified, fix the issue and retry the operation. If the cause cannot be identified or the retry fails, contact Oracle Support.
