        Cause
        The client instance was unable to connect to the Oracle Automatic Storage Management (Oracle ASM) instance.
        Action
        Check the alert log, trace files, and any additional error messages for information regarding the connect error. Contact Oracle Support if the error persists.

        Cause
        The relational database management system (RDBMS) instance was unable to connect to the required ASM instance when accessing a disk group.
        Action
        Check the additional error messages. Configure the correct ASM system identifier (SID) or ensure that the RDBMS instance has operating system privileges for ASM SYSDBA.
