This section introduces the documentation updates for release 24.1.x:

Release 24.1.2 - F93535-03, October 2024

• Added the db_tier_cluster_status metrics in the cnDBTier Node Status Metrics section to provide details about the metric used to measure the cluster status.
• Made the following updates in the cnDBTier Alerts section:
  • Updated the condition of the NODE_DOWN alert in the cnDBTier Node Status Alerts section.
  • Updated the SNMP Trap ID value of the BACKUP_STORAGE_LOW alert from 2024 to 2014 in the cnDBTier Automated Backup Alerts section.
  • Updated the SNMP Trap ID value of the REPLICATION_EPOCHS_LOST alert from 2024 to 2023 in the cnDBTier Replication Error Skip Alerts section.
  • Updated the SNMP Trap ID value of the HIGH_CPU (critical) alert from 2002 to 2035 in the cnDBTier CPU Usage Alerts section.
  • Updated the descriptions of HIGH_CPU (Major and Critical) alerts in the cnDBTier CPU Usage Alerts section to indicate that these alerts are specific to cnDBTier data nodes.
  • Updated the SNMP Trap ID value of the BINLOG_STORAGE_LOW (major) alert from 2007 to 2036 in the cnDBTier Bin Log Usage Alerts section.
• Added the Scaling of ndbmgmd Pods section to describe the procedure to scale ndbmgmd pods vertically.
• Added a note in the following sections to inform that the "occne-cndbtier" namespace name used in the section is only an example and must be configured according to the user's environment:
  • cnDBTier APIs
  • Maintenance Procedures
• Added a note in the Changing cnDBTier Passwords section to state that any character in the password that doesn't meet the password requirements can break the functionality of the script.

• Replaced "fault recovery" with "georeplication recovery" in the entire document wherever the former term was used to indicate performing a georeplication recovery.
• Added the REPLICATION_SVC_STORAGE_FULL alert in the cnDBTier Replication Alerts section.
• Made the following updates in the cnDBTier APIs section:
  • Removed -k flag from the CURL commands as using this flag with CURL commands can compromise the security of the system
  • Replaced http with https in the CURL commands.
• Updated the request, response, or both details of the following APIs in the cnDBTier APIs for CNC Console section:
  • Site specific real time replication status
  • On-demand Backup
  • Initiate on-demand backup
• Updated the response of the following APIs in the cnDBTier Status APIs section:
  • Site Specific Real Time Replication Status
  • Site Specific Replication Status
• Updated the response of the following APIs in the cnDBTier Backup APIs section:

• Updated the overview of cnDBTier in the Introduction section to include details about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Updated the overview of the REST APIs for CNC Console feature in the REST APIs for CNC Console section.
• Added the Multithreaded Applier (MTA) section to describe the functionality and configurations of the MTA feature.
• Updated the cnDBTier APIs for CNC Console section with the following details:
  • Added the following cnDBTier health APIs which provide information about the health status of cnDBTier services:
    • Health status of replication service
    • Health status of monitor service
    • Overall health status of NDB data service
    • Health status of backup manager service
  • Updated the response code of the initiate on-demand backup API.
• Updated the following cnDBTier scaling procedures:
  • Horizonatal Scaling: Scaling ndbmtd Pods
  • Vertical Scaling:
    • Scaling ndbmysqld Pods
    • Scaling ndbmtd Pods
    • Scaling ndbappmysqld Pods
• Made the following changes in the cnDBTier Metrics section:
  • Added the Table 5-1 table to provide information about the metrics dimensions.
  • Updated the dimensions of all the metrics in the section to include the missed dimensions.
  • Added additional attributes to the per fragment metrics in the following sections:
    • cnDBTier ndbinfo Operations Per Fragment Metrics
    • cnDBTier ndbinfo Locks Per Fragment Metrics
• Updated the SNMP Trap ID value of the following alerts:
  • BACKUP_STORAGE_LOW alert in the cnDBTier Automated Backup Alerts section
  • REPLICATION_EPOCHS_LOST alert in the cnDBTier Replication Error Skip Alerts section
• Updated the sample outputs in the following site addition procedures:
  • Adding cnDBTier Georedundant Cluster to Single Site cnDBTier Cluster
  • Adding cnDBTier Georedundant Cluster to Two Site cnDBTier Clusters
  • Adding cnDBTier Georedundant Cluster to Three Site cnDBTier Clusters
• Added a note in the Adding and Removing Replication Channel Group section to state that the conversion procedures are not supported on cnDBTier sites where TLS is enabled.
• Added the Removing a Georedundant cnDBTier Cluster section with the following sub-sections to provide the procedures to remove a site from a multisite setup:
  • Removing cnDBTier Cluster 4
  • Removing cnDBTier Cluster 3
  • Removing cnDBTier Cluster 2
  • Removing cnDBTier Cluster 1
• Updated the MySQL version from 8.0.35 to 8.0.36 in the entire document.
