2 New Features in Communications Broker Release 5.1.0

The Communications Broker Release 5.1.0 delivers the following enhancements and new features to improve the functionality, look, and behavior of the software.

Authentication Enhancements: SSO for ECB Admins - required to support SAML 2.0
  • Added SAML 2.0-based Single Sign-On (SSO) support for ECB WebGUI authentication.
  • Supports both SP-initiated and IdP-initiated login flows, along with Single Logout (SLO).
  • Introduced WebGUI and ACLI-based SSO configuration, including IdP metadata and certificate management.
  • The login page now includes a Sign In with Single Sign-On option alongside existing authentication methods.
  • Supports integration with enterprise Identity Providers such as Microsoft Azure.
ECB Support for AMD EPYC based Virtual Platforms Added support for the deployment of Commnication Broker on OCI AMD EPYC-based VM.Standard.E5.Flex virtual machine shapes, including configurations for:
  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
Support includes HA deployments, Terraform-based provisioning, and validated signaling/media workloads.
Translate to header on egress Communications Broker 5.1.0 introduces support for outbound translation of the SIP To header using existing egress number translation rules:
  • A new configurable parameter, outbound-translate-to-number, allows administrators to apply translation to the To header in addition to the Request-URI and From header.
  • This feature supports all existing egress translation modes, including E164, E164-no-plus, no-country-code, pattern-only, and n-digit-dialing.
  • Support is provided for Session Agent and ENUM configurations, including GUI, ACLI, REST API, and SDM management interfaces.
  • The feature is disabled by default to preserve backward compatibility.
AP-3950 support Starting with PCz500P3, support for AP-3950 has been enabled.
  • Acme Packet platforms are prepared for operation, including having the software pre-installed.
OJET 19.0.1 uplift The Communications Broker Release 5.1.0 user interface has been upgraded to OJET version 19.0.1 to provide an interactive and seamless user experience.
