About Configuration Management for Edge Nodes
Configuration management gives you a structured way to work with edge node settings.
Without configuration management, you might need to move across several pages to update related settings. With configuration management, you work in a single editor that organizes settings into configuration blocks. This approach helps you prepare a complete configuration, review it, keep track of versions, and apply it when the timing is right for your environment.
- Template-based configuration for reusable settings that you want to apply to one or more compatible edge nodes.
- Single-edge configuration for settings that you want to prepare in a Draft and apply to one edge node.
In most cases, use template-based configuration when you want consistency and revision control across compatible edge nodes. Use single-edge configuration when you need to update one specific edge node.
In the single-edge configuration editor, you can view the read-only Running configuration, create a Draft, save changes to multiple configuration blocks within the draft, review the differences between Running and Draft, and apply the Draft to the edge node.
Single-edge configuration is available from the The Edge Node Details Page.
