ECP Data Bridge Credential Management
Credentials configured for an ECP Data Bridge account provide access to both the local UI and the SMB share.
Configure ECP Data Bridge account credentials in the application runtime configuration. Each account configuration includes an enabled setting, username, password, and role.
The configured username and password provide access to:
-
The ECP Data Bridge local UI.
-
The ECP Data Bridge SMB share.
Changes to an account are propagated to ECP Data Bridge on the Cloud Connector and apply to both access methods.
When a password is changed, the previous password no longer provides access to the local UI or SMB share. Existing local UI sessions for the account are invalidated. Sign in again using the updated password.
Disabling an account prevents the account from signing in to the local UI or connecting to the SMB share. Reenable the account in the runtime configuration to restore access.
ECP Data Bridge uses a secure secret mechanism for SMB authentication and does not store SMB passwords in plaintext on the Cloud Connector. Password rotation is not enforced automatically.
