ECP Data Bridge Users and Roles

ECP Data Bridge supports read-only and read-write roles for access to files through the SMB share.

Assign a role to each ECP Data Bridge account in the application runtime configuration. The configured account can be used to sign in to the ECP Data Bridge local UI and connect to the SMB share.

Both roles can use the source and file-transfer functions available in the local UI. The assigned role controls the file operations that the account can perform through the SMB share.

Role	SMB file access
Read-only	View folders and files and copy files from the SMB share. Files and folders cannot be added, modified, renamed, or deleted.
Read-write	View and copy folders and files. Files and folders can also be added, modified, renamed, and deleted.

Changes made through the SMB share affect the files stored locally by ECP Data Bridge. For example, deleting files associated with an incomplete upload can prevent the upload from being retried.
