Activity Log Details Display and Operations

The Activity Log details view includes summary information for the selected user action and a table that lists the devices and edge nodes associated with the action. The details view supports searching and filtering within the job-level table.

Unique Controls and Actions

  • Activity Log Details Page Column Headers—The Activity Log details page displays a table of the devices/edges included in the selected user action. Each row represents a single device/edge job for that user action.

    Note:

In the table, the Name value is a link. Click the name to open the corresponding device or edge overview page (Inventory), where you can view item details.

Table 4-1 Activity Log Details Page Column Headers

    Column Header Description
Name Displays the device or edge node name.
Status Displays the current job status for the device/edge node within the user action (for example, scheduled, in progress, completed, failed).
Details Displays job-specific detail text. For jobs in progress, this field can display the current task. For failed jobs, this field can display the task failure message.
Start Time Displays when processing started for the device/edge node job.
End Time Displays when processing completed for the device/edge node job.
  • Filter Chips—Use search and filter chips to narrow the Devices/Edge nodes displayed in the table. Chips include:
  • Back arrow—Returns to the Activity Log page.
  • Summary information—Matches the selected user action from the Activity Log table.
  • Status badge—Indicates the user action status. If the action is in progress, the header can also indicate progress.
  • Last updated indicator—Shows when the page was last updated (auto-update supported).
  • See details—Opens a drawer with metadata for the selected user action.
  • View Process—Opens a drawer that displays workflow information for the selected job. The View Process drawer contains the following tabs:
    • Process Status—Displays the workflow tasks associated with the selected job.
    • Details—Displays additional job-specific metadata when metadata is available for the selected activity type.

      Note:

The Details tab is not displayed for activity types that do not provide additional job metadata.
When you select a different job, the Details tab updates to display the metadata for that job.
  • Download Log—Downloads job-level results for the selected user action based on the applied filters. The downloaded file includes the Devices or Edge Nodes that are part of the user action. Workflow task details are not included in the downloaded file.

Activity Log Details Page

The Activity Log details page provides drill down information for a selected user action. It includes a header with high-level status and controls, and a table that lists the Devices/Edge nodes related to the user action. You can also open drawers to view user-action metadata and workflow task details.

Context

Use the Activity Log details view to troubleshoot a user action by reviewing summary information and then examining Device or Edge node level job status and workflow details.

Procedure
  1. Click Activity Log from the bottom navigation.
  2. Select General from the context chooser.
  3. Select a Customer to populate the Activity Log list.
  4. Locate the user action to review by using one or more of the following controls:
    • Search—Enter up to three free-form values to locate actions that include a specific device name or edge name.
    • Filter chips—Filter the results by attributes such as Status, Last Reported, Activity Type, and Hardware Type.
  5. In the Activity Log table, identify the required user action, and then click its link in the Summary column.
Oracle Enterprise Communications Platform(Oracle ECP) opens the Activity Log details view for the selected user action and displays the job-level results for the Devices or Edge nodes included in the action.
  6. Review the action Summary, status, ID, and Last Reported information.
  7. Refine the job-level table using Search and the available filter chips.
  8. Select a row and click View Process.
    The View Process drawer opens.
  9. On the Process Status tab, review the workflow tasks and their status.
  10. If the Details tab is available, select it to review additional metadata for the selected job.

Actions on the Activity Log Details Page

The Activity Log details view provides actions for reviewing metadata, examining workflow execution, and exporting results for troubleshooting and record keeping.

View user action metadata (See details button)

Click See details to open a drawer that displays metadata for the selected user action. The metadata displayed depends on the action type and can include the user name, role, device ID or edge serial number, last reported time, and other action-specific fields.

For a supported Apply Configuration action, the metadata can include the Applied Configuration Template. The template name is a link. Click the link to open the corresponding Configuration Template page.

View workflow execution for a device or edge node (View Process button)

Use View Process to review the workflow tasks associated with a single Device or Edge node within the selected user action.

On the Activity Log details page, select a row in the Devices/Edge nodes table and click View Process. A drawer opens with the Process Status tab and, when additional job metadata is available, the Details tab.

Process Status

The Process Status tab displays workflow information for the selected job. For a Device or Edge Node action, the drawer identifies the Activity Type and the Device or Edge Node name, and then lists the tasks performed as part of the user action.

Each task entry indicates the current task status, for example, Scheduled, In Progress, Completed, or Failed, and includes a timestamp when available.

Tasks that complete successfully are indicated with a completion mark. Tasks in progress display a loading progress circle. Tasks that have not started are greyed out.

For some tasks, the drawer also displays task-specific metadata, for example, values relevant to SIM-related operations or configuration updates.

For user actions that include multiple Devices or Edge Nodes, the drawer provides navigation controls that allow you to move sequentially to the next or previous Device or Edge Node within the same user action.

When a task fails, the task entry is marked with an error indicator and the drawer displays an error banner. The drawer provides the reason for the failure when available. If the failure reason is outside the scope of the current process, a generic message can be displayed. Depending on the failure type, the error banner can also provide navigation to address the issue. For failed tasks, the drawer can also display additional completion information.

View job metadata (Details tab)

Use the Details tab in the View Process drawer to review additional metadata for the selected job. The Details tab is displayed only when the selected activity type provides job-specific metadata. When you select a different job, the information on the Details tab updates for the selected job. The displayed information depends on the user action and can include: Device or Edge Node identifiers, Edge Node serial number, SIM information, Starlink identifier, Application or software information, any configuration changes, current software version Network interface or packet-capture parameters, Customer or account-related information for supported Global actions, Data-domain or storage-management information and other action-specific metadata.

For an Edge platform upgrade, request-level information can identify the target platform version, while job-level Details can identify the version currently installed on the selected Edge Node. This distinction is useful for bulk upgrades when multiple Edge Nodes start from different versions but are upgraded to the same target version.

Download details results (Download Log button)

Use the Download Log button on the Activity Log details view to export job-level results based on the currently applied filters (or no filters). The export includes the Devices/Edge nodes that are part of the user action and excludes workflow task details.
