About Location-Based Services

Oracle Enterprise Communications Platform (Oracle ECP) uses location-based services to capture, display, and manage the location of devices and edge nodes. You provide deployment information during onboarding. When connectivity registration requires a service or business address, you also provide a registration address.

Review location information from an item Location tab and in Inventory Map View. You can update location details from the item page and narrow inventory results by geographic area. You can also update location details and narrow inventory results by geographic area. This chapter explains how Oracle ECP stores and displays location information and how you can review, update, and filter location data.

For eligible hardware, Oracle ECP can also collect and display the latest reported GPS location. Use the GPS location information on the Location tab and in Inventory Map View to compare a reported position with the deployment location.
