About the Installation Wizard

The Installation Wizard allows you to install basic system elements, including the Web GUI, by answering a series of questions that elicit basic configuration responses. All questions provide a default value that you can accept to enable reliable and consistent system connectivity. After completing the Installation Wizard, you can configure on the Oracle® Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) using the Web GUI.

The Web GUI displays the Configuration tab, which provides two levels of configuration.

  • Basic Mode —Provides a sub-set of the configuration objects. Use Basic Mode to configure the E-SBC to demonstrate proof-of-concept and test the basic functionality.
  • Advanced Mode—Provides the full set of configuration objects. Use Advanced Mode to configure the E-SBC for complex and customized deployments.

The Installation Wizard automatically enables the Basic Mode, but you can choose to enable the Advanced Mode if preferred. If you do not enable the Advanced Mode, only Basic Mode is accessible in the Web GUI. If you enable Advanced Mode, and you make changes to the configuration, you can switch between Advanced Mode and Basic Mode but you must save and activate the configuration before you can switch modes.

After the Installation Wizard is complete, if you decide you want to enable Advanced Mode, you must re-run the Installation Wizard from the ACLI and select Advanced Mode during the installation.

Note:

You can also setup High Availability (HA) using the Installation Wizard. See Setting Up High Availability (HA) Mode.
