7 The OCSS Number Lookup Tab
The Oracle® Communications Security Shield (OCSS) Number Lookup tab provides a way to search for a phone number across all of your OCSS phone number lists. The resulting display shows every list and states whether or not the number is on the list. When OCSS finds a number on a list, the search results show the settings for the number per type of list. You cannot add numbers to a list or configure any settings from the Number Lookup tab. You must go the tab for the list type to do so.
The OCSS Number Lookup Tab Display and Operations
Through the Oracle® Communications Security Shield (OCSS) Number Lookup tab, you can search for a phone number across all of your OCSS lists. When reporting the results of a search, the Number Lookup page displays a table of lists and shows either "No Match Found" or the phone number and its settings for each list type.
The following scenarios and screen captures provide some examples of the way the Number Lookup tab displays the results of a phone number lookup.
Phone Number In Neither the Access Control List Nor the Outbound Call Validation List
- Access Control Lists—The Enforcement action is to Allow calls that do not match a number in the list, which is the system default behavior.
- Outbound Call Validation List—The Enforcement action is Block because that is the action the user set for "Outbound Calling Numbers Not Configured" in the General Settings configuration on the Outbound Call Validation tab. If the user changes Block to Allow for such calls, this display will show Allow as the Enforcement action.
Phone Number Configured on Both the Access Control List and the Outbound Call Validation List
- Access Control List—The phone number appears twice because the user set configurations for both Outbound and Inbound calls for the number. The results also show the configured enforcement action and the name of the Access Control List that includes the number. In this example, two Access Control Lists include the number.
- Outbound Call Validation—The number appears once along with the parameters the user configured on the Outbound Call Validation tab.
Phone Number Not Configured in the Access Control List and Configured in the Outbound Call Validation List
- Access Control List—The Enforcement action is to Allow calls that do not match a number in the list, which is the system default behavior.
- Outbound Call Validation—The number displays along with the parameters you configured on the Outbound Call Validation tab.
Phone Number Configured in the Access Control List Configured and Not Configured in the Outbound Call Validation List
- Access Control List—The results also show the configured call direction, enforcement action, and the name of the Access Control List that includes the number.
- Outbound Call Validation—The results show "No matches found" and the Block Enforcement action that the user configured for "Outbound Calling Numbers Not Configured" on the General Settings page on the Outbound Call Validation tab.
