3 The OCSS Configuration Wizard
When you first provision Oracle® Communications Security Shield (OCSS), the Dashboard requires you to set the configuration parameters that OCSS will use to identify key elements necessary to operate the service. OCSS provides many configuration and management capabilities that you can later customize to fit your deployment needs, but do not require editing to get the system running initially. To help you set the initial configuration with minimal effort, OCSS provides a configuration Wizard. The Wizard asks you questions and uses your answers to set various parameters for managing and securing call traffic. You can use the Wizard for the initial set up as well as for subsequent changes that you want to make.
The first time the Administrator logs on to the OCSS Dashboard after establishing your subscription, the system launches the configuration Wizard. For established OCSS installations, log on and launch the Configuration Wizard from either the Settings tab or the Autonomous Threat Detection dialog.
The Configuration Wizard First-Time User Experience
The first time you use the Configuration Wizard you must answer all of the required questions on each screen and save the configuration. The Wizard does not provide default answers to any of the questions, but when you hover over the data entry fields you can see the allowed values.
The following screen capture shows the Configuration Wizard Welcome screen, which displays for the initial configuration. (The Wizard does not display the Welcome screen on subsequent use. Rather, it goes immediately to the step 1 dialog.)
After you click Yes, the Wizard progresses through a short series of screens that vary according to your input. Once you start the Wizard you cannot use the Dashboard until you save the configuration. You cannot skip steps during the initial configuration because the system requires a baseline of settings. After you save the initial configuration, you can manually re-launch the Wizard and you can skip steps to reach the information that you want to update.
If the Wizard gets interrupted, for example if the browser closes, the connectivity times out, or you exit one of the pages, the Wizard does not save any data entered on the page you exited. The Wizard saves only the data you entered on the pages prior to the one you exited. When you re-launch the Wizard the display returns to the configuration page you exited, where you can resume configuration.
Wizard Dialog 1—Select Business Type
In dialog 1, select the business type that best describes your business. The Wizard bases the questions asked in subsequent dialogs on the selection you make here. The dialog allows only one selection at a time.
Wizard Dialog 2—Country and Traffic Profile
Note:
You can re-set the Threat Detection Thresholds manually at a later time, as needed, through the Settings tab.If you chose either Small business or Medium business for business type, the Wizard displays the following dialog when you click Next. The only setting is for your home country.
If you chose Enterprise for business type, the Wizard displays the following dialog when you click Next. All but the last setting are required.
If you chose Inbound Call Center for business type, the Wizard displays the following dialog when you click Next. All five settings are required.
If you chose Outbound Call Center for business type, the Wizard displays the following dialog when you click Next. All six settings are required.
Wizard Dialog 3—Security
The Security dialog is the same for all business types defined by the Wizard. You can choose general settings such as Standard and Strict, or you can chose Custom settings.
Wizard Dialog—Confirm
After you complete the settings, the Wizard displays the Confirmation dialog that shows the settings you chose. If you want to change any of the settings, you can go back and do so. When the settings are satisfactory, click Save.
Run the Configuration Wizard the First Time
Use the following procedure to set the initial configuration for Oracle® Communications Security Shield (OCSS). You can customize the Autonomous Threat Protection and Call Classification settings after you run the Configuration Wizard.
Note:
There are no defaults for the settings.- After running the Config Wizard, you must verify the TDoS and Traffic Pumping settings and correct them, if needed. Edit Threat Vector Thresholds
- (Optional)—Customize the Autonomous Threat Protection and Reputation Score Classification settings.
The Configuration Wizard Subsequent User Experience
The user experience with the Oracle® Communications Security Shield (OCSS) Configuration Wizard differs slightly after the first time you run the Wizard. For subsequent launches, the differences include the way you launch the Wizard, the Welcome screen does not display, the Wizard opens to the Step 1 configuration dialog, and you can skip steps that you do not want to change. The steps for the first-time use and any subsequent use are the same. You can use the Configuration Wizard as often as needed, but remember that you may have to reset any custom settings that you applied to Autonomous Threat Protection or Call Classification after the last time you ran the Wizard. The Wizard does not provide default answers to any of the questions, but when you hover over the data entry fields you can see the allowed values.
Note:
If you re-launch the Wizard because you exited your last session before saving, the Wizard did not save all of your data. The Wizard saved only the data you entered on the screens prior to the one you exited. Any data entered on the screen you exited is not saved. When you re-launch, the Wizard displays the screen you exited. You can launch the Configuration Wizard from either of the following locations.
