Scheduled External Backups
You can configure the SBC to automatically back up your important information to an external SFTP server. This feature enhances system reliability by maintaining an off-system copy of this information and by making restoration processes faster.
This feature provides you with the tools to back up:
- The system's configuration file
- Log files
- The output of the show support-info command
You can back up these objects using the schedule-backup element in the system-config. The schedule-backup element includes parameters and sub-elements with which you configure backup detail.
Note:
When the scheduled backup feature is configured with a weekly interval, backups may still be captured and pushed to the external SFTP server every 1-2 hours instead of weekly. This may occur even when the system is idle. After every configuration change and save-activate event, the backup process may be triggered according to the scheduler's interval, which is currently set to 1 hour. As a result, multiple additional backups are stored on the external SFTP server.
