Configuring General System Information
This section explains how to configure the general system parameters, timeouts, and the default gateway necessary to configure your Oracle Communications Session Border Controller.
To configure general system information:
System Identification
You must specify identification parameters for this Oracle Communications Session Border Controller.
Set the following parameters to configure the system identification:
- hostname—Set the primary hostname used to identify the system. This parameter is used by the software for informational purposes.
- description—Enter a textual description of thesystem. This parameter is used for informational purposes.
- location—Set a location description field for your system. This parameter is used for informational purposes. For example, you could include the site name and address of the location where the Oracle Communications Session Border Controller system chassis is located.
- default-gateway—Set the default gateway for this Oracle Communications Session Border Controller. This is the egress gateway for traffic without an explicit destination. The application of your Oracle Communications Session Border Controller determines the configuration of this parameter.
