Storage Soft Limits

In both single-disk and dual-disk systems, there are soft limits for storage expansion, which are based on lab-tested performance benchmarks.

For Dual-Disk Systems:
  • For MySQL database storage in a dual-disk system, the recommended limit for storage expansion is 4TB
  • For Block Storage in a dual-disk system, the recommended limit for storage expansion is 46TB.
For Single-Disk Systems:
  • In single-disk systems, the recommended storage limit for storage expansion is 50TB.
This recommendation is based on extensive lab-tested performance benchmarks that have shown optimal performance up to this size. These are considered as a soft limit, meaning the system may still function beyond this size, but performance has not been validated for systems exceeding this threshold.

When you attempt to expand storage beyond these soft limits, the OCSM Storage Expansion tool will provide a warning message, informing you that the expansion may result in unvalidated performance and will only proceed with the expansion if the user explicitly agrees.
