Users
Users is a standard configuration interface for individual user accounts of Unified Assurance. This is also where Administrators can reset passwords manually or change user information.
See the following guides for additional information that could be useful:
Refer to the Standard Configuration Interface guide for details on interacting with the grid and form.
This user interface calls REST methods from api/AAA/users.
The UI path for this interface is Configuration -> AAA -> Users.
Form Fields
-
Username - Name of user account to be entered for login.
-
Full Name - Full name or description of the user account.
-
Email Address - Email Address used for notifications.
-
Authentication Type - Method of authentication used for this user account.
-
Password - User account password to be used at login.
-
Repeat Password - User account password verification to be entered.
-
Force Password Change - If and when the user must change their password.
-
Password Expiration - The date the password will expire and the user will need to enter a new one.
-
User Group Name - User Group the account is assigned to.
-
Expiration - Date of account expiration.
-
Status - Status of user account. Enabled will allow access to Unified Assurance. Disabled will lock out the user from accessing Unified Assurance.
-
Subgroups - The user will have access to everything from the primary User Group Name selection, plus any Subgroups selected. If one or more Subgroups are selected, the resulting restrictive properties are a combination of the groups rather than an intersection. If a main or subgroup does not have restrictive property defined for that category, it will be regarded as having full access and this will supersede any subgroups that have more restrictive settings.
-
Properties - User Properties are additional settings applicable to the user. Refer to the Authentication Options and Adding User Accounts guide for more information.
-
Preferences - User Preferences are inherited from the user group. Unlocked preferences can be overridden, while locked preferences have been set by an administrator and cannot be changed. Refer to the Authentication Options and Adding User Accounts guide for more information.
Best Practices
-
When using LDAP authentication, the Username must match an entry in LDAP server.
-
For internally authenticated multi-tenant portal functionality, Unified Assurance recommends using email addresses as usernames.
-
The Password/Repeat Password/Force Password Change fields will only be visible if Authentication Type is set to Internal.
-
The Password Expiration field will only be visible if Force Password Change is set to After Date.
