Using the SDWAN Device Overview Dashboard
Learn about the SDWAN Device Overview Dashboard, the tabs and panels within the dashboard, and how to use the dashboard to troubleshoot a specific SD-WAN device.
Overview
You use the SDWAN Device Overview Dashboard to get device level visibility into SD-WAN device health and performance. It helps you monitor device health, assess WAN underlay link performance, evaluate overlay tunnel health, and correlate symptoms across layers so you can isolate the likely source of an issue.
The dashboard includes the following elements:

Scorecards that summarize key health and threshold conditions so you can validate current status and detect emerging issues quickly.

Time-series visualizations that show trends over time to help you identify recurring spikes, intermittent degradation, and the impact of changes.
-
Device metadata panels that provide device identity and business context so you can confirm you are analyzing the intended device.
-
Details tables that provide per-interface, per-link, or per-tunnel metrics to support deeper troubleshooting and validation.
-
Geographic maps that provide geographic context for the specific device and tunnels associated with it so you can understand regional impact during incidents.
The SDWAN Device Overview Dashboard includes the following tabs:
Device Health
The Device Health tab provides a comprehensive view of the operational status and resource utilization of an SD-WAN device, including key status indicators, utilization trends, device context, location, and interface bandwidth visibility.
This tab includes the following panels:
Device Health Scorecards
The scorecards provide a snapshot of device state, interface state distribution, and availability over the selected time range.
You can view the following scorecards at the top of the Device Health tab:

Device Status: Indicates the current operational state of the device.

Interface Count: Displays the number of interfaces in each state (Online, Offline, Alerting, Dormant).

Availability: Represents the overall availability percentage of the device over the selected time range.
Device Details
The Device Details panel provides the following contextual information about the device:

Use this metadata to ensure that you always have the necessary context when analyzing device metrics, utilization, and health indicators.
CPU Utilization
This panel displays CPU utilization trends over time. You use it to identify sustained high utilization or spikes that may impact device performance.
Memory Usage
This panel shows memory consumption over time. You use it for capacity planning and troubleshooting performance issues.
Device Location
This panel displays the physical location of the device on a geographic map.
You can use this map for:

Visualizing device distribution
Interface List by Bandwidth
This panel shows a table displaying the list of interfaces on the particular device and their average bandwidth utilization. The table contains the following columns:

Interface Name. This field is a clickable hyperlink that opens the WAN Links tab for that interface.

Uplink Status
You use this panel to identify underutilized or overutilized interfaces and isolate interface-level issues impacting overall device health.
Device Interface Bandwidth HeatMap
This panel displays a heatmap that visualizes interface bandwidth utilization over time. You use this panel to identify recurring peak usage periods and interfaces that may be consistently saturated.
WAN Links
The WAN Links tab focuses on the health and performance of all WAN links associated with the selected device.
This tab includes the following panels:
WAN Links Scorecards
The scorecards provide a snapshot of WAN link conditions and help you quickly identify underlay links that need attention.
The scorecards at the top of this tab provide an instant snapshot of the following indicators for identifying WAN links that may be degraded:

High Availability: Number of WAN links meeting the defined availability target for the selected time range. For example, 100% availability.

High Utilization: Number of WAN links with utilization above the defined high-usage threshold. For example, utilization greater than 90%.
-
High Packet Loss: Number of WAN links with packet loss above the defined high-loss threshold. For example, packet loss greater than 90%.
-
High Latency: Number of WAN links with latency above the defined high-latency threshold. For example, latency more than 100 milliseconds.
-
High Jitter: Number of WAN links with jitter above the defined high-jitter threshold. For example, jitter more than 100 milliseconds.
Device Details
The Device Details panel provides the following contextual information for the selected device:

WAN Status Over Time
This panel displays WAN status over time as a time-series chart. The panel next to it shows the key for WAN status. The key is also relevant to the Uplink Status column of the WAN Links Utilization panel. The key is as follows:

4: Active
You use this panel to track link stability and identify frequent state transitions or outages.
WAN Availability Over Time
This panel displays WAN link availability trends over time. You use this panel to identify availability degradation and correlate it with other underlay performance metrics.
WAN Usage Over Time
This panel displays WAN link bandwidth usage trends over time. You use this panel to identify sustained high usage, spikes, and utilization patterns across WAN links.
Packet Loss Over Time
This panel displays packet loss trends over time for WAN links. You use this panel to identify intermittent or persistent packet loss impacting underlay quality.
Latency Over Time
This panel displays latency trends over time for WAN links. You use this panel to identify increased delays that can impact application and tunnel performance.
Jitter Over Time
This panel displays jitter trends over time for WAN links. You use this panel to identify variation in delay that can affect voice, video and other real-time traffic.

This panel shows a table displaying WAN link utilization and performance details. The table contains the following columns:

The Tunnel tab focuses on overlay connectivity and tunnel performance for the selected device.
This tab includes the following panels:
Tunnel Scorecards
The scorecards provide a snapshot of tunnel health and help you quickly identify degraded or unstable tunnels.
You can view the following scorecards at the top of the Tunnel tab:

High Availability: Number of tunnels meeting the defined availability target for the selected time range. For example, 100% availability.

This panel displays tunnel bandwidth usage trends over time. You use this panel to identify sustained high usage, spikes, and utilization patterns across tunnels.
Packet Loss Over Time
This panel displays packet loss trends over time for tunnels. You use this panel to identify intermittent or persistent loss impacting overlay quality.
Latency Over Time
This panel displays latency trends over time for tunnels. You use this panel to identify increased delay that can impact application performance across the overlay.
Jitter Over Time
This panel displays jitter trends over time for tunnels. You use this panel to identify variation in delay that can affect voice, video and other real-time traffic over the overlay.
Tunnel Utilization
This panel shows a table displaying per-tunnel health and performance metrics. The table contains the following columns:

You use this panel for deep analysis and operational troubleshooting of overlay paths.
Tunnel Map
This panel displays the geographical tunnel map and visualizes tunnel endpoints and connectivity between sites. You use this panel to understand overlay topology and quickly identify unhealthy tunnels using color-coded links.
Using the Dashboard to Troubleshoot
Use the dashboard to isolate whether symptoms are device-related, underlay-related, or overlay-related:

Start in the Device Health tab to confirm device status, availability, and resource utilization trends.

Move to the WAN Links tab to check for transport issues such as loss, latency, jitter, utilization, or unstable link states.
-
Review the Tunnel tab to identify degraded tunnels and correlate tunnel trends with underlay conditions.
Troubleshoot Application Performance or Site Connectivity Issues
Use this task to isolate whether an SD-WAN issue is device-related, underlay (WAN link) related, or overlay (tunnel) related.
Task 1: Validate Device Health
Confirm the device is operational and has sufficient resources before you investigate the network path.

Verify Device Status and Availability.

Review CPU Utilization and Memory Usage for abnormal spikes.
-
Check interface status to confirm uplinks are online.
Task 2: Analyze WAN Links (Underlay)
Identify whether ISP or circuit conditions are degrading the underlay.

Navigate to the WAN Links tab.

Review WAN link scorecards for high packet loss, latency, or jitter.
-
Use WAN Status Over Time to detect link flaps or outages.

Use the WAN Links Utilization table to identify affected ISPs or circuits.
Task 3: Inspect Tunnels (Overlay)
Validate overlay stability and confirm whether tunnel behavior correlates with underlay symptoms.
