Configuring Aconex Connection

Note:

This topic is applicable only if your organization has purchased the Construction and Engineering Analytics module.

Construction and Engineering Analytics can display projects from multiple Aconex data sources, supporting up to 1000 Aconex project fields

Before scheduling ingestion runs, select the project fields that you want available for creating data visualizations and dashboards .

The project fields are grouped under three tabs: Textual, Numerical, and Date. You can select up to 150 project fields in total.
  • Textual: Text, Text Area, Select List Single, Select List Multiple, and Yes/No
  • Numerical: Length, Time, Percentage, Area, Currency, and Temperature
  • Date
  1. From the " " Navigation Menu, select Administration, then Data Management.
  2. On the Data Source page, from the Actions Menu associated with your Aconex connection, select Edit.
  3. From the Edit Aconex Connection page, click Start.
  4. On the Project Fields Settings page, choose the project fields to display in Construction and Engineering Analytics.

    Note:

    Only project fields that are enabled, contain at least one value, and are linked to Mails, Documents, or both in Aconex are available for selection. Disabled fields or those not linked with Mails or Documents are excluded.
    1. Select the Textual tab.
    2. Click " "Add.
    3. From the Project Fields drawer, select the project fields and click Add.
      A counter next to each tab indicates the number of selected fields and the maximum allowed.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Select the Numerical tab and repeat steps b to d.
    6. Select the Date tab and repeat steps b to d.
    The selected project fields are categorized as Common Across Projects or Project Specific.
  5. Click Continue to proceed to the next step in the workflow where you can configure the ingestion schedule. See Setting up an Ingestion Schedule.

Additional Information

  • In the Repository Definition (RPD) file, selected fields appear in the relevant Project Fields folder of each subject area.
  • All project fields selected for Construction and Engineering Analytics from projects involving the logged-in user’s organization will appear in the relevant Project Fields folder for each subject area in the RPD (e.g., fields linked to Mails appear under the Mail subject area).
  • If a dashboard includes a project field from a project the user cannot access, that field will display blank values in charts and tables.
