Targeting the JMS Server to a Migratable Target
JMS-related services are hosted on individual server instances within a cluster and for these services, the WebLogic Server migration framework supports failure recovery with service migration, as opposed to failover. In a clustered server environment, a recommended best practice is to target the JMS server to a migratable target, so that a member server will not be a single point of failure. Therefore, the following prerequisite instruction is required if configuring The WebLogic Message Queue In A Cluster.
Note:
The instruction below assumes the WebLogic domain being configured has managed servers already created and assigned to a cluster parameter.
- Launch the WebLogic Remote Console.
- Configure the cluster migration basis to Consensus.
- In the NavStrip, click Edit Tree.
- In the Navigation Tree, expand Environment, expand Clusters, then click the cluster you created in your WebLogic domain.
- In the Content Pane, click Migration.
- On the Migration Basis list, select Consensus.
- Click Save.
- Configure a migratable target for a managed server in the cluster:
- In the NavStrip, click Edit Tree.
- In the Navigation Tree, expand Environment, expand Migratable Targets, then click a managed server assigned to your cluster.
- In the Content Pane, click the General tab.
- On the Service Migration Policy list, select exactly-once.
- Click Save.
- Click the Migration tab.
- In the Constrained Candidate Servers section, select the servers and additional managed servers in the cluster you want to support failure recovery and click addToChosen.
- Click Save.
- Click Click to view shopping cart actions, and select Commit Changes.
- Restart the Admin server and the managed servers in the cluster for changes to take effect.
