Importing Packages

A package created using the Export Primavera Portfolio Management Package application can be imported into any Primavera Portfolio Management database using the Import Primavera Portfolio Management Package application, which is also installed automatically with your Primavera Portfolio Management server. The import process is similar to the export process. During the import process, you can redefine most of the import options which were defined in the export process. However, you cannot add anything new to the package. For example, if users were omitted from the export package, you cannot add them during import since they do not exist in the package.

During import, you can also replace URLs that were stored in the package for another environment, such as web service alert URLs or Primavera Portfolio Management URLs in alert email message bodies. This helps when you need to move packages between environments without manually editing each imported alert

To use the Import Primavera Portfolio Management Package application, you need permission to import.

Note:

Carefully select which user will perform the import since that user will become the owner of all of the imported objects that have no specified owner.
