Pickers
Pickers appear as selection lists on business processes (BPs) and other components. They let users choose elements such as dates, blanket POs, other users, companies, line items, funds, or currencies.
Some pickers display a structure that helps users navigate to the correct location where a record resides, such as a specific project or BP.
If the Include only current Project/Shell records option is enabled in the BP Data Picker Configuration window in uDesigner, you can only select current shell records in the BP Data Picker window or a drop-down list. However, if the project level BP Data picker is added in a company-level BP, the system ignores this option.
Note:
If both the Show results matching any condition option and the Include only current Project/Shell records option are selected in the BP Data Picker Configuration window of uDesigner, the system displays only the records that match the Include current Project/shell records option or any of the specified query conditions.By using this additional structure, you can navigate more easily to the BP record you want. The Cost Control feature uses the following pickers:
| Picker | Description |
|---|---|
| Account Code | Use on cost-type BPs to select company account codes. |
| Activity |
Use on project/shell-level BP forms to select activities from the master schedule sheet. Note: Activity Picker is supported on Timesheet BP (Line Item Details form) and can be used to select activities from the master schedule sheet. |
| BP |
Use to link one BP to another (for example, to tie invoice BPs to purchase order BPs). The field name is often Reference BP, although the BP designer defines the field name. Depending on the form design, some fields might populate automatically when you select the referenced BP. Note: The BP list depends on your permissions. Users who do not have permission to view a BP in the BP picker list do not see that BP. |
| Commit Line Item | Use when you create a line item for a Change Commit BP. The picker displays a composite view of Base Commits and Change Commits.
The data elements (DEs) on the picker are reference, description, and CBS code. |
| Currency |
Use on cost-type BPs to select a currency. If the creator does not select a currency, the default is the project/shell currency. If the form does not include a Currency picker, the currency defaults to the project/shell currency. Note: If you select a different currency for transactions, the system uses exchange rates to calculate subsequent information. However, when you view the main form for the approved BP record, the system displays all DEs that use the Currency Amount data definition (DD) for Project or Base currency values. Oracle recommends that you add DEs that use the Decimal Amount DD for Project or Base currency values. If you select Project Currency from View Currency on the Line Item tab, the correct symbol appears. |
| Date | Use to display an interactive calendar from which you can select a date. For some BPs, dates in Date pickers can default automatically.
For example, this defaulting can help when you enter a delivery date and want the date to default to today. |
| Date Only | Use to display an interactive calendar from which you can select or enter a date. Use this picker when you need a date only, without a time or time zone.
For some BPs, dates in Date Only pickers can default to the server date automatically. For example, this defaulting can help when you complete an equipment purchase and want the date to default to today. |
| Document | Use on Line Item, Cost, Simple, and Project/Shell Creation BPs to specify Form Documents (that is, documents that might be required with the BP record).
Supports integration with Microsoft Excel and CSV templates for project/shell-level record imports because these imports support attachments. Master Log and Bulk Update imports do not support attachments, so they do not support the picker. The picker also supports the Create BP Record with Attachment (V2) and Update BP Record with Attachment (V2) REST services at the project/shell level. |
| Fund | Use on Cost BPs to select the fund from the company funding sheet that the BP allocates funds to or consume funds from. |
| Location | Use to select a shell. |
| Planning Item | Use to select a planning item at the company level. |
| Project | Use to select a company-sponsored project. You can use this picker to auto-populate project DEs on other BP fields. The picker shows Active, Inactive, View-Only, and On-Hold projects. |
| Project Template | Use to select a template to use to auto-create a project. |
| Resource | Use on timesheet, booking, or assignment BPs to select the resource to report on or assign. This picker opens in Find mode and requires least one search criterion, such as a name or a skill, to narrow the list of names. For timesheet BPs, use this picker to select the personnel to report time on. At runtime, the picker defaults to read-only mode and shows the current user's name because the system assumes the user reports his or her own time. However, depending on permissions, the picker can be editable to allow others, such as project managers, to complete timesheets on behalf of other workers. |
| Role | Use on timesheet, booking, or assignment BPs, or on resource allocation sheets, to select the role to report on or assign. On project-level timesheet BPs, this picker filters out roles that are already booked for other projects. |
| Shell | Use to select a company-sponsored shell to auto-populate shell DEs on other BP fields. The picker shows Active, Inactive, View-Only, and On-Hold shells. |
| Shell Template | Use to select the template that a BP uses to auto-create a shell. The picker shows a list of active templates that were created for the shell. |
| User/Group | Use to select project/shell users (members of a project team) or company users (all users defined within a company). For more information, see User Picker and Group Picker. |
| CBS | Use on Cost-type BPs, project/shell cost sheets, and schedule activity forms to select CBS codes. |
| Week | Use on Resource or Timesheet BPs to select a specific week for reporting. |
| Work Package | Use on Cost-type BPs to select a work package for a Cost Sheet. This picker shows the work packages that have been created. |

- What it does
At runtime, when you select a record for a BP Data Picker, the referenced BP Line Item Data Picker displays the line items that meet its query conditions. For more information about where a BP Line Item Data Picker is supported, see BP Line Item Data Picker.
In the Action form, a line item data picker can have one of these states:
- Editable: Displays a line item from a line item data picker.
- Read-only: Displays a disabled text box without select icon.
In the View form, a Line Item Data Picker is read-only and displays a disabled text box without a select icon.
For a read-only picker, the display element for the previously selected line item appears in the field. If you have not selected a line item is picked or the display element does not have a value, the picker displays an empty, disabled text field.
Select the picker icon for the BP Line Item Data Picker to view the detail forms of the source BP. Each source BP tab displays its line items.
Note:
Only the tabs that are visible in the picker configuration are shown. Each tab displays the source line items that meet the configured query conditions. The line item log for each tab appears according to its design.
The Toolbar options are:
- Lineitem: Displays a list of tabs from the source BP. Tabs that are hidden in the picker configuration are not shown.
- Find: Displays the BP search elements that were added in Find tab. Use the search parameters to filter the line items.
- Find on Page: Provides the same search behavior as other logs in the system.
