Incremental Tab
The Incremental tab is available in Earned Value Analysis (EVA) when you select Period Based as the graph type.
In Unifier, you can generate earned value analysis graphs based on either the Primavera P6 project data date or a financial period:
- Data Date Based displays earned value data from the project start date through the most recent data date, including each intermediate data date.
- Period Based displays earned value data by financial period.
Prerequisites
Before you use period-based graphs, complete the following prerequisites:
-
Define at least one financial period:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left navigator, select Standards & Libraries.
- Select Period Structure.
- Define at least one financial period.
- Select the financial period for the project or shell:
- Go to the project or shell tab.
- In the left navigator, select Properties.
- In the Details form, select the E Options tab.
- In the Financial Period field, select the required financial period.
- Select Save.
After you complete these prerequisites, the Period list is available when you select Period Based as the graph type.
Create a Period-Based Graph
- Select Create.
- Select the required graph type.
Graph Type Options
On the Properties tab, select one of the following options from the Graph Type list:
-
Data Date Based
Filters projects by data date.
-
Period Based
Displays earned value analysis by the financial period selected in the shell details. Supported periods include weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, and a custom financial period, if one is configured.
Cumulative, At Completion, Indices, and Variance Graphs
When you select Period Based, the graphs behave as follows:
-
For weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly periods, the x-axis displays the start date of each period.
- The first point is the earliest project start date.
- The last point is the latest project end date.
- For a custom financial period, the x-axis displays the configured period start and end dates.
- The Data Date list is replaced by the Period list.
-
The Period list includes the following options:
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Yearly
- The financial period configured for the shell, if applicable.
- You can select multiple projects even if they have different data dates. For projects whose data date is later than the earliest selected project data date, the graph displays values after the earliest data date as forecast values.
- For existing projects, historical financial period data is generated by using the current baseline. The system preserves project data through the project data date and updates the graph according to the selected financial period.
Financial Period Behavior
When you select a custom financial period, the graph consolidates the data for all selected projects and plots the data using the period end date on the x-axis.
The graph behaves as follows:
Scenario 1
If you select Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly:
- The first subperiod begins on the earliest project start date.
- The last subperiod extends beyond the latest project data date across all selected projects.
Scenario 2
If you select a financial period that is defined in Standards & Libraries:
- The graph displays data only within the defined financial period.
- Data outside the configured financial period is not displayed.
Incremental Graph
When you select Period Based, the Incremental tab appears in addition to the other EVA graph tabs.
The incremental graph displays incremental values for the following metrics:
- Planned Value
- Earned Value
- Actual Cost
- Forecast
Each point on the x-axis represents the consolidated data accumulated since the previous point.
The y-axis displays the value using an automatically selected scale, such as hundreds, thousands, or millions. The graph determines the scale dynamically based on the available data. The maximum and minimum values are also determined dynamically based on the data set.
