27 Translating Custom Strings (Internationalization)

User-created content (also known as custom strings) can be translated into different languages.

Examples:

  • Business process (BP) names
  • Data element (DE) labels
  • Drop-down labels
  • Radio button labels
  • Navigation log names

Note:

For a DE to be translatable, it must be based on a data definition (DD) that defines both values and labels. For example, multi-select DEs, user-entered data in BPs, attribute forms of various Managers, and similar runtime elements cannot be translated.

The Internationalization node (a sub-node of the Configuration node) contains all custom strings created by users. The strings listed in the Configuration - Internationalization log provide the necessary details for translation.

Note:

  • Users can translate custom-defined strings into various supported languages. The Internationalization module lists all user-created custom strings and provides relevant details for translators.
  • The numeric fields support international number formats (standards).
  • The system displays all available currencies and their respective symbols.
