Creating a Component List

When you create a component list, you can perform the following actions:

  • Error Check: When you select this option, the Component Analysis window opens and displays the errors and warnings related to the component list.
  • Save: When you select this option, the system saves the component list with the name that you entered.
  • Save As: When you select this option, a new window opens and prompts you to enter a name for the new list. After you select OK in the window, the existing component list displays the new name, and you can continue editing the list. Any components selected in the previous list remain selected in the new list. The log refreshes to show the new component list that was created by the Save As action. The system validates the component list name when you select OK.
  • Cancel: When you select this option, the window closes.

Working With the Actions Menu

You can also use the Actions menu to perform these tasks:

  • Select Components & Set Replace in Destination: When you select this option, the system selects all highlighted components in the list for the configuration package, and selects the Replace in Destination checkbox for each component. After you deploy the configuration package, all selected components are available in the destination environment, and any existing components in the destination environment are replaced by the same component in the configuration package if the component has the Replace in Destination checkbox selected.
  • Select Components & Do not set Replace in Destination: When you select this option, the system selects all highlighted components in the list for the configuration package, but does not select the Replace in Destination checkbox for each component. After you deploy the configuration package, all selected components are available in the destination environment, but any existing components in the destination environment are not replaced unless the same component has the Replace in Destination checkbox selected.
  • Deselect Components: When you select this option, the system clears all highlighted components in the list from the configuration package, and the components are not sent to the destination environment when you deploy the package. If a component has the Replace in Destination checkbox selected, the system also clears it.
  • Deselect Replace in Destination: When you select this option, the system clears the Replace in Destination checkbox for all highlighted components in the list. If a component is selected for the configuration package, the system keeps it selected.

Selecting Component Items

The left pane of the log displays the components that you can select.

When you select a component, the items that you can add for that component appear, and you can select the items individually. You can do the following:

  • Use the checkbox at the top to select or clear all the items.
  • Use the View filter option to filter the list quickly.
  • Use the Print option to print the selected components in a consolidated format.
  • Use Expand All or Collapse All to expand or collapse the component in the Grouping.

The component list name must be unique. If you try to create a duplicate list, the system displays an alert message.
