Section a Model using the Sectioning Tool

Use the sectioning tool in Unifier Viewer to add, move, remove, or hide parts of a model and give you a clearer view of a given area of a 3D model. For example, to view an interior of a room, create a section that cuts through the building to show its interior. You can also use multiple sections.

To view 3D files:

1. Go to a project/shell tab, and switch to User mode.
2. Select a 3D file from your local system or
   • Select Document Manager, and then select Documents.
   • Select Document Manager, and then select Unpublished Documents.
   • Select Tasks, and open a business process:
     1. Select the Attachments tab, and then select a 3D file attachment.
     2. Right-click a 3D file, and then select Open.
3. In the 3D Files tab, select a 3D file to open it.
4. (Optional) Perform any of the following actions:
   • To maximize and view the file, select Fullscreen.
   • To show or hide the files in the current folder, select File Type ( ).
   • To view the revision history, select History.
   • To close the 3D file, select Close (X).
5. Navigate to the viewpoint you want to view, select Sections in the toolbar, and then select New Section.
6. To view the section's position and plane, hover over the model to display the red box overlay with those details.

   Note:

   You can exit New Section mode by pressing ESC.
7. To create a section plane, select the desired area. You can create up to six planes in a 3D model.
8. Perform any of the following actions:
   • To move a section through the 3D model, select the drag handle of the section, and move it in the desired direction.
   • To remove a single section, right-click its drag handle, and then select Delete Section.
   • To clear all sections, select Sections in the toolbar, and select Clear All Sections.
