Operational Validation and Support
Use routine validation to confirm that Visual Explorer presents the intended customer-visible information after a configuration change or new data becomes available.
Validate a Release or Data Update
For each affected country or configured area:
- Sign in as a representative user.
- Open Visual Explorer and confirm that the map loads.
- Select an expected crop and layer, and confirm the displayed detection date.
- Search for a representative region and confirm that the map focuses on it.
- At a supported map detail, inspect a tooltip for the active layer.
- For Crop Production, open the data panel and confirm the available overview, Yield history, and Sub-regions information.
- Where download is available, confirm that the action is presented for the selected context.
- Record the validation date, selected context, and any unexpected result.
Triage an Unexpected Result
| Observation | First checks | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| A user cannot open Visual Explorer | User account and assigned access | Follow the organization’s identity and access process. |
| A crop, layer, or detection date is missing | Selected country, crop, region, and configured availability | Confirm the expected data is ready for user access. |
| A map feature or tooltip is unavailable | Active layer and map detail | Navigate to a supported detail and confirm the selected context. |
| Crop Production values are unavailable | Region, crop, detection date, and available production data | Confirm the selected context and coordinate with the data steward if the expected data is missing. |
Prepare a Support Request
When escalating an issue, provide:
- the affected user or representative access profile;
- country and selected region;
- crop, active layer, and detection date;
- map detail or data-panel view where the issue occurs;
- the observed result and expected result; and
- when the issue was first observed.
This context helps distinguish an access issue from a configuration or data-availability issue.
