Frequently Asked Questions
Which layer should I start with?
Start with the question you need to explore. Use Crop Detection for crop presence, Crop Health (NDVI) for vegetation-health patterns, and Crop Production for regional production context.
What changes as I zoom?
Different layers are meaningful at different geographic detail. Visual Explorer adjusts the representation so that it shows information at a supported scale for the active layer.
What should I check when an expected layer or crop is unavailable?
Available layers and crops depend on the selected country, crop, region, and detection date. Confirm your selections first. If the expected data is still unavailable, contact your administrator.
Does an unselectable area mean that the crop is not present?
No. Crop Detection makes available detected areas selectable. An area without a selectable detected feature should not be treated as a definitive statement about crop absence on the ground.
What does a yield category mean?
A yield category gives context for the selected crop’s forecast yield. Categories are crop-specific; use them to compare the displayed areas for that crop, rather than as a universal comparison across different crops.
How should I use historical production values?
Use historical values as context for the selected region and crop. They can differ from a current forecast in source, timing, definition, or coverage, so they are not necessarily directly comparable.
What should I do with an unexpected pattern?
Confirm the crop, layer, region, date, and map detail. Record the displayed evidence, compare nearby areas where useful, and use appropriate local expertise, field information, and official processes to determine the next step.
For access or expected-data availability issues that remain after checking your selections, contact your administrator.
