Navigating Visual Explorer

Visual Explorer provides tools and reports to help users analyze crop data.

Context Switcher

To the right of the page title, the context switcher allows you to navigate between the Crop Production view and the Crop Performance view.

The Share button will copy a link to your clipboard. This link can be shared with another user to provide them access directly to the Crop Production or Crop Performance view and will include any searches or filters applied to the page being shared.

Below the page title, the Smart Search Filter allows users to filter the page by country level data and crop type. By default, the Crop Production View filters data on the Country and All Crops, while the Crop Performance View filters data on the Country and priority crop, as identified by the organization.

To change the Region filter, click the Region filter and select the administrative region Once a region is selected, the data will update, and the map will zoom to the region automatically.

To change the Crop filter, click the Crop filter and select the crop you would like to view.

The data and map will update automatically.

To remove a filter, click the X to the right. Region will return to the default administrative region and crop will return to the default crop filter for the view.

Maps

Drill In and Out of Regions

Clicking on a region of the map will apply a filter to the view to show data and display the sub-regions of the selection.

You can continue to drill into the administrative regions by clicking a region.

To drill out of the selected regions, remove the region filter or click Refresh.

Zoom In and Zoom Out

Resize: Shows an enlarged version of the map. Click Resize again to return the map to the default size.

Refresh: Resets the map view to the default country level.

Switch Layers: Select the map background between Satellite, Satellite + Explorer (Hybrid) and Terrain. Terrain is the default map background. Points of interest and infrastructure are visible in the hybrid map background.
