SMS Channel Communications

The Behavioral Demand ResponseCloud Service uses the SMS channel to send automated pre- and post-event text messages to customers. The messages are designed to motivate customers to save energy during peak events.

Design

The following are samples of SMS messages for the Behavioral Demand Response program.They include the peak day date and peak day start and end times configured based on the utility’s preferences.

Pre-Event SMS Sample

"UTIL: Today, 7/1 is an Energy Savings Day. From 2pm-6pm, join your community to help save energy. Text STOP to opt out."

Post-Event SMS Sample

“UTIL: Great job! On the 7/1 Energy Savings Day, you used 5.2 kWh and were 10th out of ~100 similar neighbors. This helps to save energy and money. Text STOP to opt out.”

Configuration Options

For each element listed in the table, indicate the desired configuration in the Input Value column. If you do not provide an input for optional configurations, the default will be used.
