Resource Types

Oracle Field Service uses resource types to differentiate resources between roles. Oracle Field Services roles are set as:

• Bucket

• Field Resource

• Organization Unit

• Tool

• Vehicle

• Warehouse

Configure the resource types to align with the ones defined in the Oracle Utilities Network Management System.

To configure resource types:

1. Log in to Oracle Field Service with valid credentials.

2. Click the options menu icon on the Home page.

3. Navigate to the Configuration page > Resources, Activities, Inventories > Resource Types.

4. If needed, click Add New. If not, select the resource type and click Modify to view and update.

5. Enter and note the required details for these roles:

a. Role: Field Resources

• Create the “Crew” resource type(s)

• Create the “Crew Member” types such as “Apprentice”, “Journeyman”, or “Forceman”

b. Role: Vehicle

• Create the “Vehicle” types such as “Bucket Truck” or “Eval Truck”

Important: Configure the created resource types in the Oracle Integration Cloud lookups in order to use these in the application.
