Supported Functionality
This section describes the functionality supported by this integration point.
The service point synchronization exists between Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing and Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management v2.1.x. This flow is not applicable to Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management v1.x.
In this flow the service points created in Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing would be synced to Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management v2.1.x for creating the activities between the two applications. By default the service point is owned by Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing and when the service point ID is referred, it is the Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing service point information.
This integration process describes the path of an Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing Service Point creation. When a premise and its service point(s) are created in Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, part of the integration process syncs the information to Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management v2.1.x to create the asset location in Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management.
If an asset location is successfully created in Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management, then Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management sends back a positive acknowledgment to Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing.
In case any errors are encountered during the creation of the asset location in Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management, then a negative acknowledgment is sent which transitions the sync request to error state so that the user/system can possibly fix the issue and retry to send the message.
If an error is encountered while transforming the message, or Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management is unreachable, the system synchronously responds to the error and integration moves the error message to the error queue. Similarly while sending the acknowledgment from Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management/Oracle Utilities Operational Device Management and there is any error while communicating to Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, integration moves the message to error queue and retry should be done from integration layer only.
