Before reading this section is it recommended to familiarize yourself with the Oracle Scheduler by reading the following documentation:

• Oracle Scheduler Concepts - Overview of the scheduler including the architecture.

• Scheduling Jobs with Oracle Scheduler - Creating, running and monitoring jobs, chains and prioritization.

• Administrating Oracle Scheduler - Configuration, monitoring, import/export schedules, troubleshooting, and so on.

• DBMS_SCHEDULER Reference - Reference API for the Oracle Scheduler including all the valid procedures available.

Note: The Oracle Scheduler in Oracle Database 12c and above is recommended to be used for this interface.
