Configuring Point Types

Point types are defined by the following:

• Master Business Object

• Measurement Maintenance Object

• Unit of Measure

• Point Type Class

• Valid Characteristic Types

• Characteristics

To configure a point type:

1. Open the Admin menu. Select Historian, Point Types, and selectAdd.

2. When the configuration window opens, complete the required fields. Point Type Class, Valid Characteristic Types, and Characteristics are only required if you click the plus sign (+) to add these properties to the point type.

3. Click Save to add the new point type.
