Data Requirements

Model

The amount of model data required depends on the solution engine that is being utilized.

Power Flow kVA: Minimum data requirements. Device ratings, nominal voltages, Xfmr voltage levels and service transformer sizes are sufficient.

Power Flow: Full data requirements. Defaulting is acceptable but will affect accuracy of results. In addition to the items listed for kVA mode, conductor catalogs are required to produce accurate voltage solutions.

SCADA

SCADA is optional for Power Flow and FLM, though the following will be utilized in present:

• Device Status (Open/Closed)

• Bus voltages at or near the equivalent source locations

• Real-time load conditions. Various permutations are supported. The following is order of preference:

• Per-phase real and reactive power flow

• Per-phase current flow. Voltage and power factor optional

• 3-phase average or total real and reactive power flow

• 3-phase average or total current flow. Voltage and power factor optional.
