Outage Correction
Web Switching Management can be used for outage correction. After an outage is completed, you can either correct the associated outages by transitioning the plan to the Rework state and clicking the Correct Outage button, or you can create a new Outage Correction sheet and re-record steps to replace a single selected outage.
Correcting Outages in a Rework Sheet
When you transition your sheet to the Rework state, a Correct Outage button () will appear on the Steps tab. Change step times or use the Find/Replace dialog box to change assets, then click the Correct Outage button to update the event with the new customer counts.
Due to the complicated nature of the grouping algorithm, the steps and event relationships need to remain unchanged. That is, if step 6 originally restored the outage created in step 2, then step 6 needs to continue to restore the outage created in step 2. The Events column appears when the sheet is in Rework mode to help clarify this situation.
Using Outage Correction Sheets
After you create a new Outage Correction sheet, you will re-record the outage restoration sequence in study mode. Although the scenario is recorded in study mode, the corrections will be made to the real-time outage. Study mode is used so that the model can be altered to resemble the real conditions when the outage was created.
Note: In order to use Outage Correction, you will need to have access to an available study session.
