Using the User Permissions Tab
The User Permissions tab allows you to define what features and tools an OMA and/or Flex user has access to and can be used to customize their user interface.
Understanding the Permissions (FlexOps & OMA) Pane
The Permissions (FlexOps & OMA) pane provides a table showing actions that require permission and whether an OMA or Flex user may perform the action.
The table displays the following:
Permission: The action (including tool use) that the user may use if given permission.
OMA: Whether the OMA user has permission (Yes or No) to perform the action.
Flex: Whether the Flex user has permission (Yes or No) to perform the action.
Description: A short description of the action.
Note: There are many permissions defined to allow finer detail in what the user is allowed or not allowed to do.
Change Crew: This access allows a user to change the crew. If it is not assigned to a user, then the user will be locked to their existing crew.
Extended Switch Step Updates: Client side rule to allow the user to edit additional switch step fields beyond the completion time and comments fields.
Allow Switch Step Updates: Allow the user to update switch sheet transitions and update fields.
Allow Device Operations: Ability to mark non-SCADA devices open or closed.
Note: Other permissions can be defined that can be accessed by the application. However, using permissions in that manner should not be used for security purposes, because only the above permissions are integrated into the server's permissions.
The buttons below the table allow you to add, remove, and edit permissions. The Refresh button will manually update the table with any changes made to the Permissions table.
