Understanding NMS Keyboard Navigation Methods
The keyboard can be used instead of the mouse for most options. You can change focus by using the Tab key to focus on the next field or Shift+Tab to focus on the previous field. In tables, arrows can also be used to move between cells. There are some tools, such as tables or text areas, that use Tab and Shift+Tab for their own purposes. In those cases, Control+Tab and Control+Shift+Tab can be used to move to the next component.
To access a menu, press Alt and the underlined letter in the menu name (usually the first character). If there are multiple tools with the same menu keyboard shortcuts in the active window, you can repeat the keyboard shortcut to move to the next tool’s menu; for example, when Web Workspace opens, the Web Workspace File menu will be opened when you press Alt+F, and the Work Agenda File menu will be opened if you press Alt+F again.
To activate an active component’s tooltip, press Control+F1. For example, if you have tabbed into the Work Agenda table data, the table cell’s tooltip will be displayed when you press Control+F1. The focused field will have an orange outline indicating what field is focused.
Note: Some tools do not focus on a field in a dialog box until you press the Tab key.
