The NMS system will periodically perform a background check of all feeders to confirm that each protection device has the correct protection limit settings. Any updates required will be captured in a single event and switching plan and run automatically or manually depending on the global and feeder configuration.

The period between the background checks is controlled by the Protection Scheme Period rule configured in the Configuration Assistant, Event Management tool. The value is in minutes and the default value is 1440 (1 day).
