Introduction
The Storm ERT Extractor provides a mechanism to extract and export from NMS the data needed by the Storm ERT product. This includes outage, control zone, storm, and customer data.
The Storm ERT Extractor is implemented as a Unix shell script named nms-stormert-extract. This script extracts data from NMS database, stores it in text files, and optionally uploads generated files to the configured SFTP server or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage. For additional security generated files can be encrypted.
During storms, if a utility cannot provide accurate Estimated Restoration Timelines, then Customers cannot prepare properly, reputational damage occurs, and financial penalties may be incurred.
Storm ERT solves these problems producing Estimated Restoration Timelines, based on similar historic storms. Users can perform “what-if” studies before the storm arrives, to predict the impact of changing the number or efficiency of crews during restoration activities.
