Managing Crew Operations
Associating crews with events and updating the crew status (from assigned through en‑route, onsite, offsite, suspend and released) can be done from both the Crew Actions and Work Agenda windows. A right‑click context menu provides the available options for the given event/crew combination.
The only time that an event and a crew must both be selected is when initially assigning a crew to an event. From an event in the Work Agenda, you can update the status of any crew currently assigned to that event. If a single crew is assigned to an event, then the available options are shown directly in the menu; if there are multiple crews assigned to the event, a submenu will be shown for each crew. Similarly, from a Crew in the Crew Actions window, you can update the status of that crew on any event that the crew is currently assigned to. If a crew is only assigned to a single event, then the available options are shown directly in the menu; if a crew is assigned to multiple events then a submenu will be shown for each event.
The following actions can be performed from the menu in either window
Assigning a Crew to an Event
Placing a Crew En Route
Placing a Crew Onsite
Placing a Crew Offsite
Suspending a Crew
Releasing a Crew
Assigning a Crew to an Event
Assigning a crew adds the event to the crew's work queue.
Note: You do not have to assign a crew to an event before placing it en‑route. Assigning merely lines up the event for the crew to work later.
To assign a crew to an event, complete the following steps.
1. In the Work Agenda Trouble Events list, select the row containing the event that you want to assign the crew to.
2. Select the crew you want to assign the event to in the Crew Actions window.
3. Right click and select Assign.
Note: You can assign multiple events to a single crew. You can also assign multiple crews to a single event.
Placing a Crew En Route
To place a crew en route to an event, complete these steps:
Note: You can only place a crew en route to an event if the crew is an on‑shift, available, non‑mobile crew that is not currently en route or onsite to an event.
If the crew is already assigned to the event:
1. With a single event selected in the Work Agenda, select a crew.
2. Right click to display the context menu. The actions available depend on whether the crew is assigned to just one event or assigned to multiple events. If they are assigned to multiple events, a submenu will be provided for each event that the crew is assigned to.
3. Select En Route for the selected event.
If the crew is not already assigned to the event:
1. In the Work Agenda Trouble Events list, select the row containing the event that you want to place the crew en route to.
2. In Crew Actions, select the crew you want to place en route.
3. Right click and select Add Crew to Event.
4. Right click and select En Route.
Note: You can place multiple crews en-route to a single event.
Placing a Crew Onsite
To place a crew onsite to an event, complete the following steps:
If the crew is already en route to the event:
1. Select the crew.
2. Right click and select Onsite from the event options.
Note: If the crew is not assigned to the event, follow the steps in Placing a Crew En Route first.
Placing a Crew Offsite
To place a crew Offsite to an event, complete these steps:
If the crew is already on site at the event:
1. The right click context menu will display the allowed options for the Crew.
2. Select Offsite for the selected event.
Suspending a Crew
Suspending a crew for an event allows a crew to be placed en route or onsite to a different event without completely releasing the crew from the first event.
To suspend a crew that is en route to or onsite at an event, complete these steps:
1. Select the crew.
2. Right click and select Suspend for the selected event.
Releasing a Crew
To release a crew (unassign) from an event, complete these steps:
1. Select the crew.
2. Right click and select Release for the selected event.

Crew Operations Using the Advanced Option
In addition to the standard Assign, En Route, and Onsite options, there is also an Advanced... action that allows those actions to be performed with a modified time and an optional event note. You can use this action to adjust the time a crew operation is logged as performed, which supports more accurate travel time and Estimated Restore Time (ETR) calculations, if required.
