A protection scheme defines the phase and ground protection limits associated with a protection device. Depending on which source is feeding the protection device, NMS can check that the source matches the protection scheme and, if it does not, then NMS will generate an event to switch the protection scheme for the device. Protection scheme events can be configured to be executed manually or automatically.

FLISR and Suggested Switching check if protection devices need to have their settings groups changed and take appropriate actions as part of the generated switching plans.
