Real-Time Power Flow Updates

When a switching operation occurs in the system, it may take a few seconds before analog SCADA measurements update to reflect the new configuration. For this reason, the real-time power flow will not update instantaneously after a topology change, but will wait a configured number of seconds (the default is 30) before a resolve is triggered. By then, it is assumed that the system measurements are again stable. Clicking on the power flow results during the delay will result in a Power Flow Results Pending message being displayed.

Note: The delay period is set in the SCADA_DELAY_TIME rule. Administrative users can view or change this setting on the Configuration Assistant Event Management Rules tab (see Using the Event Management Rules Tab on page 24-16 for details).
